Web Design for Therapists
Case Study - Wessex Hypnotherapy
Over the next few pages, we'll show you how we put our 5 Steps to Successful Website Design into action for Rob Clarke at Wessex Hypnotherapy.
Rob wanted a cleaner, more professional look for his website, with more use of colour, and a clear navigational structure.
The two images below show the difference between the original design that Rob had, and the website we designed for him.

Stage 1 – The Quotation
 |
Rob lives in an area (in the south of England) where there is quite a bit of competition in his particular business, and so wanted to lift his website above his local competitors, so he contacted us.
After giving us the go-ahead, Rob's site then moved into the next stage... 'Pre-Production'. |
Stage 2 – Pre-Production
Rob had previously seen some of our designs, and so already had quite a good idea of the sorts of things he wanted his website to look like.
He gave us an indication of the overall 'look and feel' that he was looking for... clean, and friendly yet professional.
So, after lots of communication back-and-forth, the overall 'look and feel' was established, and the initial design was put together.
Rob began putting together the content for the web pages, while we moved the design to the next stage...
Stage 3 – Mockup
We e-mailed Rob to let him know that his initial design was ready for him to see, and asked for his feedback.
 |
Rob said that the initial design gave him just the sort of 'clean' look that he was after, and suggested a few minor revisions.
The main image changed, and this meant that some of the colours on the page (which had been chosen to complement the 'mockup' image), also had to be reviewed. |
Along with a couple of other minor changes, the final design was ready to be turned into a working website.
Incidentally, if you want to choose some images to go on a website you might be planning, why not try iStock?

Stage 4 - Production
 |
It's at this stage that Rob's new website design made the transition from a static image, to a working website.
Once Rob had sent over his web page content, we built the content in to the design, and were able to test the navigation structure. |
Rob was given the opportunity to test this 'beta version' of his website, and again a few small functional changes were highlighted.
Once these changes were made, the website was ready to go 'live'.
Stage 5 – Publication
 |
Rob's new website now becomes ‘live’ on the internet, and potential clients could now read about the services he has to offer. |
Thanks again for a fantastic job! - The website looks 'the business', really friendly and professional.
