DreamWeaver Help
How do I modify alt-tags in a DreamWeaver template (.dwt) file?
If you have a page which is based on a DreamWeaver template file, you might find that you can't directly change the 'alt tag' for an image like you would normally, because it isn't in an 'editable region'.
However, as long as the alt-tag is still marked within the .dwt template file as an 'editable attribute', then you can still edit the alt-tag within the individual page, you'll just have to go about it slightly differently.
Open the page that you want to edit, and click on 'Modify', and then 'Template Properties...'

This will bring up the 'Template Properties' box, which will show you which properties on the template that is applied to this page can be amended.
If the property you wish to change isn't shown here, it may mean that it hasn't been set up as an 'editable attribute' within the template.
Select the property you want to amend under the 'name' column, and then enter the new value in the box near the bottom of the box.
In this example, we are editing the alt-tag of an image called 'MainImage', which is the only editable attribute on this page.

When you've entered the value in the box, click OK, and then preview your page to check the alt-tag.
